Elizabeth is a biologist from Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas, Venezuela. Her undergraduate thesis was focused on the composition, distribution and abundance of gastropods associated to seagrass beds at Morrocoy National Park. Her Masters thesis, also at USB, studied the extraembryonic protein consumption during intracapsular development of Calyptraeidae gastropods. Elizabeth has worked as a research assistant at the Morrocoy Agenda Project, an inter-institutional, multidisciplinary project, as well as in assisting the coordination of the NaGISA project in Venezuela and for the Southamerican region, and the Caribbean Implementation Committee of the Census of Marine Life. Elizabeth participated as the Caribbean CoML representative in the II Oficina Latinoamericana para el Census of Antarctic Marine Life workshop (II OLA CAML) held at Brazilia, as well as in the RAPAL (Reunión Administradores de Proyectos Antárticos Latinoamericanos) also held at Brazilia, Brazil.
