Diana Gómez
digomez@invemar.org.coDiana Isabel Gómez López is a Biologist and holds a M. Sc. Degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Actually she is the Coordinator of the Dynamic and Organization of Ecosystems of the Biodiversity and Marine Ecosystems Programme of INVEMAR and since 2007, she is in charge of the Census of Marine Life program at the Institute. Her area of expertise area is focused mainly on the structure and characterization of seagrass beds and the development of studies and inventories of the marine ecosystems in the Colombian Caribbean Sea. She has coordinated projects in topics such as the impact of land based pollution sources in the marine and coastal ecosystems in the Tumaco bay (Colombian Pacific) and characterization of biodiversity of the marine and coastal zones of La Guajira and Golfo de Uraba. She also participated in the development of the National Programme of Marine and Coastal Biodiversity Research (PNIBM) National Plan of Action 2001-2010 and in interdisciplinary and interinstitutional projects on marine biodiversity.
